Ajayi Crowther University Deputy Vice-Chancellor is dead

Professor Jacob Adeniyi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, has passed away.

According to Fashionistar Africa, he died in his home in the Bodija region of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, after a brief illness.

It was discovered that the computer science professor had been transported to University College Hospital (UCH) for treatment before passing away.

The deputy vice Chancellor died on Saturday, according to the institution’s Registrar, Dr Jadesola Babatola.

She stated that Adeniyi joined the institution in 2012 and that he was a sharp thinker and a distinguished scholar.


She stated that “Adeniyi, who is a professor of Computer Science, played a vital role in the establishment of the University’s Department of Computer Science.”


Prior to his appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, where he had served for two terms until becoming ill, he had served the University as the Head of the Department of Computer Science and the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences.”
