Why ‘Shanty Town’ is so nuanced — Ini Edo

Ini Edo, a popular actress, has stated that there is a lot of nudity in ‘Shanty Town,’ the new movie series in which she co-starred.

“There are a lot of people, male and female, even children, going through these things,” she said in an interview with Saturday Beats (such as prostitution and assault shown in the movie). We are shedding light on a fundamental issue, and people are concerned about nudity? How do you talk about prostitution realistically without showing nudity? It makes no sense, but the majority of people understand. They will come around for the few who do not.”

“We overshot our budget,” Edo, who is also a co-producer on the project, said of some challenges encountered while filming the series. We struggled a little and it was quite difficult. When they choose to be, some Nigerians can be hypocritical. We are attempting to shed light on a situation and societal ills that are occurring in society.”

“It is a dream (come true),” she said of her experience as a mother and how it has affected her career . In everything I do, I keep my daughter in mind. In terms of when I do certain things, I prioritize them. I can actually go a week without leaving the house.”
