Yabatech appoints an acting Rector

Yaba College of Technology’s Chairman of the Governing Council has approved the appointment of Uduak Inyang-Udoh as acting Rector of the College, effective Monday, January 30, 2023.

On behalf of the Governing Council, Prince Lateef Fagbemi stated that the appointment was contingent on the appointment of a substantive Rector.

According to a statement signed by Yabatech’s Deputy Registrar/Head of Public Relations, Mr. Joe Ejiofor, Inyang-Udoh, a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Quantity Surveying, was the Deputy Rector until this appointment (Administration).

“Other previous positions held by Inyang-Udoh include Director, Yabatech Consult; Director, Academic Planning; Dean, School of Environmental Studies; and Head, Department of Quantity Surveying,” the statement said.

“It should be noted that the incumbent Rector, Engr Obafemi Owoseni Omokungbe, served until midnight on January 29, 2023.”

“At its meeting on November 25, 2022, the Governing Council recommended the appointment of a new Rector to the appropriate authority. However, the Governing Council has yet to receive a response in this regard.”
