Naira and fuel crises: We will disburse food packs to vulnerable Lagosians

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has stated that vulnerable Lagosians who are heavily impacted by the current naira and fuel scarcity will be given food to relieve the hardship they are currently experiencing.

Sanwo-Olu stated this on Saturday during a live conference on the crises that are causing chaos throughout the country.

The governor stated that his administration is working hard to provide palliative measures to ease the burden on vulnerable Lagosians.

“We have also since commenced the distribution of food packs, to the most vulnerable citizens, the people most impacted by this disruption in the supply of cash.

“We will continue to highlight more vulnerable groups within our distribution channels that would benefit from palliatives,” he said.

In response to the possibility of fare increases, Sanwo-Olu stated that they are in discussions with private transportation operators to regulate fares in light of the difficult circumstances that Lagosians have found themselves in.

He did, however, urge them to remain calm while the palliatives are implemented.
